Ask Iwata: I’d somehow gotten the wrong idea about what this was. I thought it would be a coffee table book collecting Iwata Asks interviews; while it does draw from those, its more of a compilation of business philosophies and biographical snippets about Nintendo’s beloved former president. It also features remembrances from Iwata’s friends and colleagues Shigeru Miyamoto and Shigesato Itoi.

Tumblr Porn: This is the first in a new series of books called on internet history. It covers Tumblr through the lens of its various NSFW elements—pornography, sex work, adult fanart, and so on—and also touches on some surrounding communities, from newsgroups to LiveJournal to 4chan. Recommended if you ever made your online home in one of those communities, whether you engaged with the NSFW side or not.

Nier Replicant ver.1.22474487139…: My only exposure to the Nier/Drakengard series was Automata in 2017—my game of the year with a bullet, if not for Breath of the Wild—and I’m glad to be getting back to it with this new Replicant remaster. I’m early yet, and while its first impression may not be quite as explosive as Automata I’ve been enjoying its oddball cast and strange, evocative soundtrack.
